Genshin, Genshin, Genshin Impact.
Back in 2021, I said everyone who loves MMORPGs or Anime RPGs needs to give Genshin Impact a go, even an attempt of 30 minutes was enough to make you fall in love with it. After all Genshin Impact was not just another ARPG out there in 2021. It’s an game that has the publisher miHoYo attempting to connect with the community in their own little way to bring interesting new content for everyone to enjoy.
Genshin Impact is one of those games that won’t let you stop grinding ever. There are constant updates every few weeks if not months. In fact, in 2022, they have already dropped it’s first update, Genshin Impact 2.4 where it features new characters and items making players re-think how they would be spending their Primogems.

Despite Genshin Impact revenue not being as high as it first started, it is still one of the top-grossing mobile game globally. Genshin already made its mark on 2020, 2021 and I am very confident it will continue to set a new standard in 2022.
As mentioned in our Genshin Impact Review 2021, the game is a cross platform between Mobile and PC, capable of linking and syncing between the platforms. This means that regardless whether you are home or on the go, you are able to play on the same Genshin Impact account and save your progress.
Let’s see if the hype in 2021 will continue in 2022 and will Genshin Impact still be worth playing?
The combat hasn’t changed at all since launch, it is still smooth and despite all the new updates, it is still completely functional, fluid and enjoyable. Genshin impact also has it’s own unique yet complex Elemental Combos system which has not changed much since release. While new characters are added and implemented, the core system remains untouched.
F2P Friendly / Cash Shop
I only play Genshin Impact from time to time, however, I am capable of enjoying the game without feeling the need to Purchase anything from the Cash Shop. While it is still completely possible to play the game without spending, the game has increasingly became more Pay2Win during each update.
The cash shop in Genshin Impact has not changed much over the year, it still offers the same style of offers mobile games offer. A super aggressive Pay 2 Win cash shop that really offers free to play players not just very limited options and tough decisions when spending their hard-earned Primogems.
The artwork in this game just seems to get better per update. Despite in early 2022, it was confirmed that the Chinese servers will be censoring some of the new characters models in the 2.4 Update. However, the good news was that this censorship wasn’t going to apply in the global version instead, we will be just getting additional outfits. How cool is that?
Below check out the differences between the Old vs New Outfits/skins
Although this isn’t the first time a game of this magnitude is getting censored. World of Warcraft went through that phase too, along with many other titles, look at these examples below.
While as mentioned previously, my main reason to play MMORPGs or even games in general was to PVP, and it is the one thing Genshin Impact is missing. Fortunately, Genshin had such an impact on me, I actually do enjoy it. Even if it’s not as my main game, it was something I always come back to just to enjoy every now and then. As for if it will contiune to be fun in 2022, I really do believe miHoYo will continue making Genshin Impact Worth Playing in 2022.
Why You Should play Genshin Impact
Was the reasons above not enough? Then, let me tell you 3 more reasons why you should be playing Genshin Impact in 2021.
Breath Of The Wild Equivalent
Remember Zelda’s Breath of the Wild, it was one of the best and most iconic games ever made, well it now has a sequel that will also release in 2022. Whether not Genshin Impact will match against that will be something interesting to unravel. Until then, Genshin started off as a “free to play Breath of The Wild” for all the non-Nintendo Switch holders. In fact, it was pretty much on par with Breath Of the Wild in terms of combat, gameplay and a rich open-world, action-adventure, action combat game, in fact, some may even arguably state it was better as it had constant updates which BotW did not have. While BotW is a 4 year game now, Genshin Impact has proved itself as a title on it’s own, a topic of discussion on it’s own. In fact, Genshin Impact was the most talked about game in 2021 on Twitter. That’s right, more than World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy, Fortnite and those other iconic titles.
You Will Never Be Bored
Just as I previously mentioned, Genshin Impact constantly have updates, just look what they have installed for 2022.
Genshin Impact is a grind, an never ending grind. Not only it is recommended to have all your characters levelled up, you also have daily quests to smash through to raise your Adventure and World Rank. However, unlike other games, where it is just an mind-numbing grind, Genshin Impact tries to change things up as they recently collaborated with Playstation’s Horizon Zero Dawn to bring it’s main character Aloy as a Free Five-Star character. She is a character uses a bow with the Cyro Element. Further, while there is not PVP in Genshin Impact, there is still the Co-op multiplayer mode that is available from Adventure Rank 16. What’s better than to team up with some friends to complete quest or subdue some high-level bosses together.
Still not convinced yet on Genshin Impact? Let’s go to Reason #3
Waifus of the Wild
If you weren’t here to play due to being fantasized from Breath of the Wild or care about lots of content, you must be here for the Waifus & Husbandos in Genshin Impact. With having a vast range of different characters to collect, voice acting and different outfits to collect to immerse in a beautiful open world MMO. Further, you even get a annoying but cute midget named Paimon as a bonus that will serves as your personal guide while you cruise through the world of Teyvat.
While some players don’t like her, I personally know a few who do. Tell me your thoughts on Paimon.
Genshin Impact - Paimon
Do you like the loli Paimon that follows you in Genshin?
Is Genshin Impact worth getting into? I really encourage you to give it a try. Fayiette will tell you now, Genshin made an impact in 2020, and again in 2021, it will be worth playing in 2022. Upcoming titles such as Lost Ark or even Ashes of Creation. Those are defiantly worth looking into but they ain’t here now, Genshin is, enjoy it as Genshin impact is here to stay. miHoYo has plans to continue releasing even more content throughout the 2022 and beyond.
