New World
New World is an sandbox MMORPG developed and published by Amazon Game Studio with a release date of 28 September 2021. You are stuck on an mysterious but curse island of Aeternum that is full of magic. While traveling through this magical island, a trusty mount will help you save time right while you are on your quest to gain immortality through Azoth.
Mount System
In Amazon’s New World, there is currently no mount available to get in game, whether you are a free to play player or a paid player. Mounts simply does not exist. While there have been a massive center topic of discussion whether it should be added or not. As of current, Amazon Game Studios have not confirmed that there won’t be mounts in game which means, the possibility does exist.
Community Debate
The community is quite divided between wanting the mount system and not. While some debate that the island of Aeternum is too small to need mounts, having mounts will turn it into just another generic MMO, break immersion or simply there too many options currently to fast travel around the world to need mounts.
While on the other side, we have some community members state that game is too slow-paced without mounts and it takes forever to get from point A to point B. Others state that one less PVE thing they can do such as no mount collection for New World.
Personally Fayie is either for or against having mounts. However, if we do have mounts, I would rather have them purely for aesthetic purposes and with lowered movement speed. Honestly just due to I enjoy collecting mounts, it’s a good pass time while I am not gearing or looking for PVP.
