What is Fast Travel
As of 1st August 2021, there is currently no mounts on the island of Aeternum in New World. However, there is an mysterious magic mineral called Azoth which the inhabitants of Aeternum strongly believes it is the key to eternal life. Azoth has many uses in this MMORPG New World, besides crafting, you are able to use Azoth for Fast Travel. Fast Travel is essentially a quick teleportation spell all players have as a default. This spell Fast Travel uses Azoth as a catalyst to cast.
Limitations of Fast Travel
There are quite a few limitations of Fast Travel in New World. Here are the following fast travel limitations known in game currently.
- Fast Travel is a 10 second cast
- You must register and set 1 Inn as a return point
- This method does not use Azoth
- You can only fast travel to settlements or fast travel points/nodes you have visited before
- You are able to discover many fast travel points/nodes throughout the island
- Fast Travel uses Azoth as the cost and is based on the following algorithm
- Base Cost – 50 Azoth
- Distance – 5 Azoth per 100 meters
- Encumbrance Amount – 4 Azoth per 10 weight
- Faction Discounts
- Company Discounts
- You are only able to carry a maximum of 1000 Azoth at any point in time
- You cannot fast travel if you are overweight
- Some fast travel methods are associated with cooldowns
- Overdue Taxes on your private housing cannot fast travel
