Which Faction is the Best
This is a very debatable question and the power can tip any time. The good thing is, you are not locked into a faction after picking unlike games like World of Warcraft. However, it is recommended that you are joining the faction that all your friends are in since company (party) are faction restricted. You can find the strongest faction from it’s official leader board here.
Restrictions
- You can only join company (party) belonging to the same faction.
- You can change factions once every 120 days for an Azoth fee.
- By accessing your Character Menu and clicking BIO, at the bottom will be a Change Faction Button.
- Changing factions will loose all your current bonuses however, you will gain the bonuses of the new faction instead.
Faction Shop
As you guessed it, what is a faction without it’s own full fledged faction shop. In New World, each faction will have it’s own special store that sells different items ranging from gears to runes to seals. Some of these items are faction exclusive while others are much more common.
The only twist is that faction shop does not take coins (in-game currency), instead, it uses it’s own special currency called the Faction Tokens.
How To Obtain Faction Tokens
Faction Tokens are obtained by completing Faction missions. Each faction representative of each major town will have an Faction mission board where you are able to complete missions for Faction Tokens and other rewards.
Faction Mission Board
The faction mission board will always have 6 quests for you to pick up and complete. It is always 3 for PVE, 3 for PVP, where as the PVP quests give much more faction reputation but at the same time, there is also a failure condition.
Unlike the Town Board quests, the moment you complete a quest, it refreshes which means, you can indefinitely do Faction Mission Board quests all day. If you do not like any quest offered by the faction mission board, you are also able to wait for the vendor refresh as well.
PVE Quests
PVE Quests from the Faction mission board includes retrieving items, killing enemies patrolling an area, or crafting items. The PVE Quests do not have time limit nor failure states. Nor does it require you to flag for PVP, making it suitable for PVE players to complete them at their own leisure. The Faction Board quests are slightly more difficult then the Town Board quests however they also usually provide more XP as well. On average, you receive from 250 to 350 reputation for each PVE quest completed.
PVP Quests
PVP Quests from the Faction mission board includes holding ground, collecting resources, or retrieving specific items. You must be flagged for PVP to accept the PVP quests and if you unflag or die at any point, you automatically fail the quest. While the risk are higher, you also receive more reputation points, High Risk, High Gain. On average, you receive from 300 to 500 reputation for each PVP quest completed.
Faction Levels
In order to upgrade your faction levels, you must complete missions, currently there are 5 different levels which are universal to all 3 factions, with the only differences are the names. The higher level you are, the more items are unlocked in the faction shop.
