As a player, you are encouraged to gain resources through various means, whether its plundering, node utilization or through settlements. What is Azoth
The inhabitants of Aeternum strongly believes Azoth is the key to eternal life. It’s the resource that tempted your crew mates and you, onto the island. Azoth is a mineral with magical properties and is the primary source of supernatural power on Aeternum.
What are Azoth Used For
Azoth has many uses which includes the following
- Fast Travel
- Resetting Travel Cooldown
- Crafting Items
- Weapon
- Armor
- Tools
- Respeccing your Weapon Talent Trees
The most common use for Azoth for any new player would be the fast travel system. Due to the game not having any “Mounts” nor “Sprint” ability, the only way to get from Point A to Point B fast would be fast travel. The cost is dependent and factors in on how far you are from the settlement, the territory government, any territorial and faction buffs you may have.
Further, Azoth is one of the most important materials when it comes to gear crafting in New World. Not only does it increases the chance of adding a perk it also increases the chance of receiving a special modifier as well. Also, for higher-quality weapons from Rare and above, there is a chance of receiving two or more perks.
Ways to get Azoth
The main source of Azoth income for a player under level 20 would be doing story quests. Azoth becomes much easier to obtain once a player reaches level 20.
You can acquire Azoth in New World by
- Completing Story Quests
- Looting Rare Chests
- Killing Monsters Level 20 or above
- Closing Breaches
- During Invasions
The most efficient method of obtaining Azoth is by clearing and closing breaches. The Corrupted Monolith Breaches Event is marked by a red skull on your map. In order to participate, you would need an Azoth Staff Tier 1 and highly recommended to have a party of 5 at level 25 or equivalent. This is the most efficient way as it kills two birds with a single stone. Not only would you be getting Azoth, you would also get corrupted Silver which is a needed ingredient to craft Amrine Tuning Orbs, for New World’s first Expedition, among other rewards.
The next best source of obtaining Azoth is by completing the main story quests and killing any mob above level 20. Both these methods flow nicely with each other as the story quest does require you to travel all over the island of Aeternum and during this time, you are able to kill any monsters that comes along your path.

Unfortunately, we are unable to farm Azoth for a week and horde it. There is a maximum limit of Azoth we are able to hold at any given time. This Azoth limit is 1,000, this is a huge drawback for any life skill crafter in game as they will be running out quite often and needing to go back out in the wild to farm more.
