MSL Wood Ancient Colossus

Monster Super League Wood Ancient Colossus

Monster Super League Wood Ancient Colossus is only available on Thursday.

The Wood Colossus is tank that as 0% Crit Rate but has 20% Resist and with 50% damage increase passive and 100% Defense reduction for 3 turns as an active.

Why Do Wood Colossus Each Thursday

Wood Colossus is one of the harder Colossus to do out of all Ancient Colossus to do during auto-play, even though it has zero crit rate, it’s passive combined with right mob’s ATK UP active becomes a near instant death for any Astromon it faces. This can be countered by many Astromons with the Buff Breaker skills such as Wood Bulbie or Light Woolf. Otherwise, with high DPS Astromons that has high SP regen while you nuke Right Mob down before it get’s a chance to Active and cause the wipe. Further, all Colossus drops the same rewards including the best in slot (BiS) Healer Gem Set for League Defender players.

While my golem guides is as closely related to each other in terms of Astromons, you can notice this entire guide uses 87.5% of the same Astromons you would have used in Fire Colossus or Water Colossus already. That 12.5% is actually just 1 Astromon from the team of 8, and it’s Dark Shellie. A super easy Astromon to get during rebirth event. After all there is absolutely no need to go find another Astromon unless you are Min-Maxing times. Granted saving a few seconds each auto adds up eventually, but as a casual player such as myself and majority of you out there it’s just not a viable option. I am sure, you just want to get Colossus done each day and move on to the next daily.

I split the team into two main groups for Wood Colossus, DPS: DPS, Utility: Def Down and SP Regen and Support: Healers and Shield.

  • Dark Mona, Fire Draka, Dark Seira all falls under DPS & SP Regen
  • Dark Thor, Dark Beatel and Dark Shellie falls under DPS with it’s Debuffer
  • Dark Cernunnos and falls under Support with her Heal and Undying Volition
  • Dark Seastar is just another dps.

Idea behind the team composition is very simple, high DPS, regen as much SP and nuke everything down. That’s all to it. No strategy because auto-play won’t care what you want anyways. This is a pure nuke team, replace any Astromons with stronger versions of it to make it go so much smoother.

Trinkets

I never really mattered much on Trinkets, in Golems or in Dimensional Rifts as much simply due to the fact that it isn’t really needed. This does not change for Wood Ancient Colossus, if have enough damage mitigation through HP or DEF, you can just sap your way there. Making trinkets not completely needed, however, whilst saying that, it is still good practice to have some decent trinkets inside. For example, only my Main DPS Astromons with I use throughout all my guides such as Dark Mona, Fire Draka are properly Trinketed, while the rest will have mix of 4* & 5* Variants between +0 and +15. With maxxed trinkets, you will have a much easier time with this boss aswell.

Below, I have a video that that utilizes the Astromons mentioned above to demonstrate it’s effectiveness and speed.
