MSL Water Ancient Colossus

Monster Super League Water Ancient Colossus

Monster Super League Water Ancient Colossus is only available on Wednesday.

The Water Colossus is a defender that as 10% Crit Rate with a 50% Crit Damage Modifier along with 100% sap abilities on both passive and active.

Why Do Water Colossus Each Wednesday

Water Colossus is quite a difficult and tricky Colossus out of all Ancient Colossus to do during auto-play, it is relatively much easier if you manually complete it. It’s difficulty lies in the Def Up buff the right mob will trigger as an active. This can be countered by many Astromons with the Buff Breaker skills including Water Kiki or Wood Bulbie. Otherwise, with high passive healers such as Water Persephone or Dark Minicat, you shouldn’t have much issue outlasting it while using Sappers to wither it down. All Colossus drops the same rewards including the best in slot (BiS) Healer Gem Set for League Defender players.

While my golem guides is as closely related to each other in terms of Astromons, I will attempt the same here with the exception of Water, as for all water dungeons, they are a complete pain. After all there is absolutely no need to go find another Astromon unless you are Min-Maxing times. Granted saving a few seconds each auto adds up eventually, but as a casual player such as myself and majority of you out there it’s just not a viable option. I am sure, you just want to get Colossus done each day and move on to the next daily.

I split the team into two main groups for Water Colossus, DPS: DPS, Sapper and Support: Healers and Shield.

  • Dark Mona, Seastar falls under DPS
  • Dark Thor falls under DPS with it’s Debuffer and Courageous Striker
  • Dark Cernunnos and and Light Venus falls under Support with their Heals and Undying Volition
  • Dark Flora & Water Yuki falls under DPS as a Sapper
  • Water Persephone falls under Support with Passive Healing

Idea behind the team composition is very simple, just sap will wither everything down, your Team 1 should be perfectly capable of beating the Colossus boss before a wipe. If not, the colossus should be with low HP and the RAW DPS team 2 should be able to finish them off. Another method would be having Team 2 set up similar to Team 1 with 2 Healers and 2 sappers which would also guarantee a kill, since there is still sappers like Dark Yuki and Dark Boltwing to use, if you have them.

Trinkets

I never really mattered much on Trinkets, in Golems or in Dimensional Rifts as much simply due to the fact that it isn’t really needed. This does not change for Water Ancient Colossus, if have enough damage mitigation through HP or DEF, you can just sap your way there. Making trinkets not completely needed, however, whilst saying that, it is still good practice to have some decent trinkets inside. For example, only my Main DPS Astromons with I use throughout all my guides such as Water Persephone and Dark Mona are properly Trinketed, while the rest will have mix of 4* & 5* Variants between +0 and +15.

Below, I have a video that that utilizes the Astromons mentioned above to demonstrate it’s effectiveness and speed.
